Shapton Commits to Colby CC

The Ontario Nationals are pleased to share the news of Ty Shapton’s commitment to Colby Community College (NJCAA I). Shapton, a middle infielder from Ingersoll, ON, joined the Nationals in 2021 for his 15U season and has been a dedicated member of the program ever since.

Ty chose to join the Nationals after hearing great things about the organization and following in the footsteps of his brother, who also played for the Nats. Known for his energetic yet humble personality and sense of humor, Ty has been a constant presence on the field and consistently demonstrates a willingness to compete in every inning he plays.

When asked what he loves most about baseball, Ty said, “Being around my teammates and hitting,” emphasizing his passion for the game and the camaraderie it brings. His love for the sport and team-first attitude have made him a valuable member of every Nationals team he’s played on.

Colby Community College stood out to Ty thanks to glowing recommendations from Nationals coach Andy Leader and an inspiring conversation with Colby’s coaching staff. “Andy Leader said nothing but good things, and I really like what their coach had to say about his team,” Ty shared. He is eager to join the Trojans and continue developing both as a player and as a person.

As Ty Shapton prepares to embark on this next chapter at Colby Community College, the Ontario Nationals extend their congratulations and best wishes for his continued success.
