James Commits to USC Upstate
The Ontario Nationals are proud to announce their second commitment of the class of 2022, David James, a right handed pitcher from London, Ontario. The University of South Carolina Upstate competes in NCAA D1 and is located in Spartanburg, SC.
James is grateful for his time with the Nationals, noting that it has been a great experience and helped him grow just as much off the field as it did on it. Additionally, James credits Nationals GM Jeremy Jayaweera with his player development, saying "Jeremy has put my development as a player first and foremost, and has set up opportunities to showcase my skills not only in Ontario but also in the U.S.
David wants to show appreciation for his mother and grandparents who took the time to get him to all his games and practices. He comments "they really influenced me and are ultimately who helped me get the offer to attend USC Upstate."
James is most looking forward to a new atmosphere and a warm place to play outdoors year round. He is excited to compete in the Big South Conference and hopes to bring home a conference title. On the academic front, USC Upstate boasts the exact program James was looking for which provides a well rounded experience for David.
